Guild Wars 3 classes
Short answer: Guild Wars 3 (GW3) has no announced class or profession list yet. The only role shown is the Vaelwarden, and that is the player fantasy, not a class. This page updates as ArenaNet reveals more.
What is confirmed
ArenaNet has confirmed the shape of combat without naming a single class. The official site calls it action RPG combat meets Guild Wars build making, rewarding skill use, positioning, and movement, and built to play well on a controller and a keyboard. So whatever the classes are, they sit on top of an action combat base with the build depth the series is known for.
You play a Vaelwarden, a guardian of Orr. The studio has pointed to character customization and skill building as part of making one your own. Read more on the Vaelwarden page.
What the series tells us
Build making has defined Guild Wars from the start. The original Guild Wars paired a primary and a secondary profession from a pool of ten, and the skill bar you took into a fight mattered more than your gear. Guild Wars 2 moved to nine professions, each with its own weapons, traits, and elite specializations.

Guild Wars 3 carries that build making forward, but how it splits into classes is open. Anything beyond the points above, including which professions return, is speculation. We track the gaps on the rumors page.
When will classes be revealed?
ArenaNet says more on gameplay, beta tests, and pricing will come across late 2026 and into 2027, ahead of the Fall 2027 beta. A class reveal fits that window. See the release date page for the full timeline.
